I've realised that I don't have to just lie down and wait quietly to have my diaper (or clothes) changed. So I roll around and kick my legs and wave my hands and cry. It's really a challenge to roll over onto my tummy when Nenek or Ibu is trying to hold me down and wipe my bottom. At other times, Nenek manage to hold me down while Ibu will distract with so many interesting things, like remote controls (which I'm already so bored with) and hairbrushes. hehe. And when one is trying to put on the clean diaper, I dig my feet in and lift my bottom up! It's tough but it's strangely satisfying. I want control!

Guess what? I got a new toy. It's a funny-looking toy with eyes and lights up when I hit it over and over again. And it doesn't even complain! It even produces some sounds when I hit the bongo with the maraca. The maraca looks like a baby rattles with some colourful lil beads inside. A real maraca is filled with dried sees or pebbles and usually played in pairs by shaking them. So is anyone game for a bum shaking time with me? *giggles*

Whenever I'm hungry, I will go "mamaaam maammm mamaaam maammm..." which instead of making the BIG people rushing to get me some food, they will always ask me this question, "Aisyah nak mamam?" :P Of course, I want to eat. doh!

I have also uncovered the joys of clapping hands. Nenek clapped her hands at the 'Pok Amai-amai' song and I observed how her hands hit each other. I've been sitting on the floor watching my hands and tried making them hit each other and done a pretty good job. Whenever I feel overly-excited, I will clap my hands too.

In between practicing my new sounds and clapping my hands, I've been bumping my head a number of times pretty bad. The latest accident happened just last Sunday. I was sitting down at the armchair at Nenek's house when I saw Aunty Zah's milk packet on the armrest. Ibu let me go for a while to switch on the fan at the side and I tried to take the milk packet. But I lost my balance at my side and whacked my head on the wooden armrest. That really hurt and I did that silent scream until I had to pause to take a breath. Then I found my voice and wailed for ages...you know, the terisak2 kind. Ibu jiggled me about for a few minutes and had that guilty look on her face. I guess she must have felt really really bad that time for causing the accident. My crying subsided after they applied a cold packet from the fridge on the side of my head. I was also distracted by the lil toys at my activity table and started smiling again after that. Kak Ilya was right about hitting your head and having lil accidents now and then.
"Ooooo ... I had my share of falls. And I can tell you from an experienced baby, the last fall ... won't be your last :))"

I don't quite like to be in the dark. My eyes will go really HUGE whenever the lights went off. There is a nightlamp at nenek's house and it's switched on every night. Ibu and Ayah are still looking for a nightlamp for me. They are currently using the lamp from the study room to be used at night. I think the Twilight Turtle is cool although it's not really a lamp.

Twilight Turtle, the first and only plush constellation nightlight ever created, gently transforms nurseries and bedrooms into a starry night sky that comforts and calms children and adults alike. From within his plastic shell, Twilight Turtle projects a complete starry night sky onto the walls and ceiling of any room.
I think I'm going to count the stars till I fall asleep...zzzz.

I've had a few new foods for lunch and dinner lately. Thursday was vege pasta with broccoli and chikin. Well, it's more of mashed pasta actually. It's not that bad actually. It tasted just like brown rice because it's just brown rice with carrots and some other vege which I'm not familiar with. My habit when having the first spoonful would be to just taste a bit of the food in case someone decided to feed me some yucky stuffs like last time. I swirled the food inside my mouth and when I think the food's ok, I opened my mouth for more! hehehe.

Baby oats with brown rice with broccoli, potatoes and chikin was on my lunch menu yesterday. I really like the taste of baby oats that I finished almost a whole bowl of it! It was something new for me...the texture and being creamier *taste a teeny-weeny bit like milk with carrots!* than the normal foods I have.

I also tried papaya during snacktime today but it was awful. I cringed my face the moment the papaya bits hit my tastebuds. *yucks!!!* I can only bear with a couple of spoonfuls before I closed my lips tightly for Ibu to get the message. Ibu also cooked baby oats, apples with a bit of milk for dinner today. I didn't finish this one because it was a bit too watery to my taste and I was getting crankier because I want to sleep.

Waitaminute, are these baby oats made of babies?! *gasp*

When it's lunchtime, I bob up and down while either Nenek or Ibu tries to get spoon in my mouth. I wear it on my cheeks and chins most of the time. Ibu and Ayah were thinking of buying a high chair *whatever that is!* to have me sitting down and eating without bobbing up and down. But they decided not to because I don't like to eat sitting down...at the moment. Basically I'll sit in my rocker seat for a while before I try to squirm my way out of the chair to crawl instead. :P So getting a high-chair is definitely not on Ibu and Ayah's buy-list yet. But I really like this:

It's a highchair that converts into a table and chair. It looks bulky and ugly but sure can last me 3-4 years down the road. Ibu prefers this one though.

Gee...I slept badly last night. Maybe it was the wind because I don't drink much milk at my last meal or I'm still not used to the new environment i.e. Bishan home. I slept at 1am, then woke up at 3am, then at 4.30am and at 6.35am when I got up to have my milk before I fall into slumber again. I get up to find that Ibu is in a cranky mood and can hardly open her eyes. But hey, I'm the one who had the bad sleep! :P

Of course I get more cuddles from Ayah over the weekend. He's either romos'ing onto my cheeks or giving me bearhugs at every slightest chance. hehe.

Wait for me ok, Ibu and Ayah. I can now zoom to Bishan with my 4-wheeler. *vrooooom~*

p.s. to my fellow comrades, pls don't do this without your parents' supervision. :P

Before Ibu and Ayah go home yesterday, I let out a HUGE poop in my diapers. And I pooped lots (and smelt real bad too) till Ayah pinched his nose and asked me what have I been eating. hurhur. The poop nearly shoots out of the back of my diapers this time, only a bath would clean me up. So Ibu carried me to the bathroom where Ayah is ready with the showerhead to spray my butt with warm water. Ibu did the 'dirty' job of cleaning my butt. hehe. Nenek told Ibu that it was because she wasn't fastening my diaper tight enough so the diapers was like loose and the poop had room to move around and went to the back but Ibu was afraid that tightening the diapers will squish my thighs.

So far no poop has ever escaped from my diapers although it can get really messy in there like yesterday. Sometimes the big people don't understand what I'm talking about to clean me up until they realise it when I refused to sit down and got really cranky. I tell you that it's not a pretty feeling to sit down and get the poop all squished up. *eeeyuck!*

In situations where the poop gets really ugly inside, it's funny to see Ibu's eyes go BIG and announced to everyone, "Aisyah dahh berakkk!" Ayah gets the message that this is going to be a shitty situation *no puns intended* and he would scramble to have the diapers and stuffs like cotton pads, drapolene and a container of water ready. It really looks like a hospital scene on teevee where the doctors wanted to cut someone up. hehe. Since I'm already eating, the poop is all different colours. Don't mention about the smells though. heh.

But I think Ibu and Ayah should be able to 'tahan' the smell since a study shows that most mothers found their baby's poop less disgusting than others. :P

So, what temperature constitutes a fever?

While 98.6 degrees F is considered the normal core body temperature, this value varies between individuals and throughout the day. The daily variation is minimal in children less than six months of age, about 1 degree in children 6 months to 2 years old, and gradually increases to 2 degrees per day by age six. A person's baseline temperature is usually highest in the evening. Body temperature, especially in children, is normally raised by physical activity, strong emotion, eating, heavy clothing, elevated room temperature, and elevated humidity. A rectal temperature up to 100.4 degrees F (38C) may be entirely normal (no fever). A rectal temperature of 100.5 or above should be considered a fever. Lower values might be a fever, depending on the child.

Extracted from DrGreen.com
the day i fell sickWith almost everyone around me down with a fever, I finally caught the nasty bug. I had a fever, an infected throat and some cough+runny nose. It was making me uncomfortable and I couldn't sleep between 2am-4am in the morning, whining and tossing around the bed. Nenek gave me Panadol for kids which made me doze off till late morning. I eventually visited the paed late Friday afternoon with Nenek and Aunty Zah after Ibu came home. Dr Kumar didn't give me any antibiotics but a couple of fever medicines...one for the fever and the other to be used when the fever is over 38.5degrees celsius. After being fed with the medicine, the fever's subsiding now.

Time to rest now...I'm feeling woozy.

My name is a pretty common name. Ibu knows 3 other Aisyahs. There's kak Noor Aisyah, kak Siti Nor Aisyah, and kak Aisyah Nasyeera. When people asked Ibu and Ayah what's my name, they have a tendency to pause as if to wait for my full name...possibly a 3-word name. hehe.

Makcik: Eh, what's the lil one's name?
Ibu: Aisyah
(pause)
Makcik: That's all?
Ibu: Yep...just Aisyah.
Makcik: Oooohh...no "Siti" in front?
Ibu: Yep...no "Siti"..it's easier for her to memorise her name when she goes to school in future. heh.

So I should be glad that Ibu named me Aisyah because it would be easier for me to write my name down without breaking in sweats in future. hehe. Ibu knows because her name is soopa-long and people also tend to not call her in her full name. It just sort of twist their tongue when they pronounce Ibu's name.

My first tag by aniq and I "have to write 6 weird facts/things/habits about myself"

1) I don't put on my jebik mode now immediately when strangers approach me. Instead I looked down and tried not to cry. Big people misunderstood it as being shy but that's actually a prelude of saying, "Pls ignore me or I will cry." Nyai Ju had the first experience when she saw me trying to smile shyly when she approached me. I bawled my eyes out when she teased me for being shy.

2) I've tried swallowing bits of this leaflet with pictures of burgers, fries and cocal-cola on it, bits of tissue papers from the box and strands of zed's yellow hair in Wet Pet, Dry Pet, My Pet, Your Pet before someone noticed. Paper is very hard to swallow, though. I had a good chew on bits of paper but they got stuck to the roof of my mouth. Ibu saw what I was doing and scooped the bits out with her finger. That process was pretty horrible, but I still try to suck on paper. I'm just drawn to it.

Maybe I'll be succesful one day, who knows.

3) I scratch my head silly before sleeping soundly at night. Ibu checked for any signs of skin problems but she found nothing. I've tried the Egoderm cream which is raved by the Ibus in a forum but it doesn't work either. I'm trying out that QV kids wash to check whether the Sebamed syampoo is causing this problem.

4) I have expanded my expressions and vocabulary in these past few weeks. Besides the 'ayyyah', 'ti-tehhh' and the disgruntled grunts, I can now say, 'ahh-tchaaa' which I have discovered made everyone very happy! It sounded like my own name and I say it out whenever I hold something which belongs to me; proclaiming that the stuff is mine.

5) Play is on the top of my activity list like all lil people...and yes, even before I sleep. I would be on my tummy and bury my face into my favourite pillow (read: bantal bushuk) and lift up my bum and down again. I'll stop when I'm tired and that's when I've actually fallen asleep in that position (see pic and yes, that patch is still there...*rolls eyes*). Just weird isn't it?

6) Everyone wants to kish me and bite me when they see me. I know I smell nice because lil people smells nice and have non-stinko breath (even right after they wake up!) because they have no teeth and teeth collect bacteria which makes their breath stink.

I tried biting Aunty Zah's cheeks when she romos'ed me a tad too much once. That WAS irritating! :P

So should I tag anyone now? Should I..should I?

Watching Baby MacDonalds!Ibu and Ayah have been on this mission to get me to stay in my own house. They've wanted me to do that for the last few months, but I demanded to be brought back to Nenek's house everytime I go there. But since my homecoming last week has shown pretty good results (although I am still clinging to Ibu and Ayah only), I am at my Bishan home now. Will be back in Pasir Ris tomorrow.
