I thought I would escape this time but the flu bug got me. kakak Aisyah was the first one to have the usual flu symptoms. She had skipped school since Friday and we think it's going to be another long holiday for her.

I was also drooling a lot due to teething so Ibu thought it's because of the excess saliva in my mouth. My nose started getting runny and I coughed excessively soon after. I developed a fever a days after kakak got it. It's hard to avoid the bug when you're living under one roof with a sick person.

Fortunately we have a lot of leftover medicines in the refrigerator so Ibu self-medicated us. Some bottles were even unopened from my last hospitalisation stay. Ibu and Ayah followed this guideline that if we have any flu symptoms, we will try to self-medicate for 3 days. Even our paed gave us big bottles of medicines to last us in case we get sick in future. If we got worse or don't seem to improve, it's definitely time to see the doctor.

Does anyone love eating this? It's called Tasty Biscuit Sticks. They're plain but they really are tasty!

Can you spot my 2 teeth? The first one sprouted out from the bottom left and the other one is just at the top right. I have the 3rd tooth coming soon (at the bottom right) and I am one drooling machine. They arent actually perfectly straight but Ibu read that they usually straighten out over time.

Experts disagree about whether teething actually causes symptoms — like fussiness, diarrhea, and fever — or whether these common symptoms are not related to teething at all and just coincidentally appear at the same time as emerging teeth. Regardless, many parents maintain that their teething babies do experience discomfort (though some babies get through the process with no problems at all). The symptoms most likely to trouble a teether include:

• Drooling (which can lead to a facial rash)
• Gum swelling and sensitivity
• Irritability or fussiness
• Biting behavior
• Refusing food
• Sleep problems

Though many parents report that their babies have loose stools, runny noses, or a fever just before a new tooth arrives, most experts don't think teething is to blame for these symptoms. One who does is William Sears, pediatrician and author of The Baby Book. Sears believes that teething can cause diarrhea and a mild diaper rash because your baby's excessive saliva ends up in his gut and loosens his stools. Inflammation in the gums, he thinks, may cause a low fever (under 101 degrees Fahrenheit).

Based on the above analysis, I am easily irritated and I bite kakak Aisyah whenever I'm pissed with her. I suddenly find food not appealing enough causing my parents to worry. I survive on goats' milk and bits of food here and there (if you know what I mean). It's hard being a baby who's teething, you know.
