Do you think if I stuff my mouth with this, all the other babies will envy me? Ibu and Ayah may need to sell the house to buy me this. And it's not even recommended for actual use.
I had a great few days because I've been doing things and haven't been lolling around the house getting bored (and getting into trouble). I've been working really hard at trying to crawl. I spent ages on all fours, rocking back and forth, then I'd dive forwards onto my belly. That would get me about ten centimetres. Lifting up my butt is easy-peasy but to coordinate my feet and hands to move forward is another thing altogether.
Ibu is down with a fever though so she can't be near me most of the time. But she got better on Sunday morning and played with me despite the wooziness the pills are giving her. I've also been a gooooooot girl and listen to ayah reading my books. :)
Nyai Ju (Abg Amin's Ibu) gave me an activity table a few days ago but we only managed to assemble it together just now. It is soo much fun banging my hands on it. But everyone finds it a tad too irritating because everytime I bang my fists on a toy, it will play a song. hehe. Everytime I put in one of the small lil toys (a piggy, a chikin, a sheep and a cow)in the slot in the middle of the table, it will let out a sound of that animal! The piggy will go, 'OINK, OINK!'. The chikin sounds like a rooster in the morning. The sheep goes, 'BAHHH, BAHHH!' and the cow will go, 'MOOOOOO, MOOOO!'. Then there's the butterfly that plays a sound when I flip the wings. I definitely am having fun with my new toy.
I'd surely like the Weemote. The Weemote looks fat and has more colourful buttons. I wonder how it will taste like?
Ibu's nourza.net is no more.
She does have a backup blog though.
that dancing cow
She said that she's moving to a land where all cows live and go moomooooo.
We went to Marina Square in the evening. Ayah wanted to buy a pair of running shoes from the Asics boutique there. It is a pretty HUGE place and we couldnt' find the Asics shop for quite sometime. but it's definitely NOT square!
Nenek was soopa-excited when she saw Kiddy Palace and her eyes lighted up even more when she stepped into Mothercare. With a 20% discount at Kiddy Palace and a sale going on at Mothercare, who wouldn't get excited right?? I got myself some sleeveless tshirts for the warm weather, a cute denim-lookalike shorts and plate with a warmer..well, to keep the food warm...duh! Nenek also got herself a handbag for her upcoming trip in September. I took a quick nap of 1/2 an hour and woke up when everyone was about to tuck into their dinner like last time. ehehehe.
I read that our favorite sleep position could offer clues about our personality. How true is that? I lie down on my front my head turned to one side sometimes. And sometimes I lie on my back with both arms up around the pillow, like doing a surrender. Most of the time I sleep on my side with both arms out in front, hugging my bolster.
So what's your favourite sleep position?
We went to Century Square just now to get some stuffs for me and some aunty came up to Ibu asking me whether I am a boy or a girl. Ibu told her that I'm a girl and she asked me in the kindest of voice, 'Why did you mummy cut your hair like this?' She must have seen the bald spot on the back of my head and thought Ibu let me have that hairstyle since the bald patch is 'placed' so nicely. I know the aunty meant well but helllllllo, who would do that kind of hairstyle to a cute kid like me, right? Ibu then explained that it was NOT my latest hairstyle and hair has been growing pretty slow back there. The aunty adviced my mum to apply some olive oil and massage the spot diligently. I have tried olive and coconut oil but well, it's still growing slow back there. I hate it when people start asking when it will grow because I don't know the answer to that. It can take forever but I think I'll grow the other hairs long enough to cover that up...hehehe.
Ibu and Ayah didn't work yesterday because they wanted to bring me to Kinder Clinic with Nenek. Well, you see...I've been having some rashes on my forehead and had been scratching it and parts of my scalp for quite some time now. Babies are funny, blotchy little creatures at times but these rashes return a few days later after they disappear.
We thought that Dr Pradeep was in but the nurse told Ayah that Dr Pradeep won't be in the clinic and since we were already there, we saw Dr Siva instead. He took one look at my rashes and diagnosed it as eczema. :/
Seems like it is aggravated by the humid weather. Dr Siva told us that I need to be in a cool place because sweat will make it worse. Lucky for me it doesn’t seem to be aggravated by any food...phew~
He also did a Landau test to check for the development of postural reflexes which is needed for independent sitting and walking. I didn't move a bit when Dr Siva held me up on his palm. I could feel the sense of height and chuckled a bit. Feels great to be looking down at everyone instead. He brought me to a mirror after the test and tickled me from behind, making me laugh even harder. He's one funny man. He gave me some lotion to put on the rashes and a tube of moisturiser for my whole body to be applied after my bath.
Since we are in Orchard Road, we went for a bit of jalan2. Ayah, Ibu and Nenek had the Ayam Penyet for lunch while I slept after my dose of milk. I woke up in the midst of their merry eating and continued playing with my bolster and pacifier for about half and hour before I grew bored. Fortunately Ayah has finished his meal and carried me outside while waiting for Ibu and Nenek to finish their Ayam Penyet.
We walked back to Paragon after our lunch. Ibu told Nenek there's a level for kiddies at Paragon so Nenek wants to check it out. I had fun sitting down with Garfield, Big Bird and Elmo but no kiddy rides. I'll get it only when I'm a lil bit bigger. I even tried out the Baby Einstein Discover and Play Activity Center at a shop. It is actually shaped like a walker but my feet do not touch the ground but instead rest on the saucer's sturdy round base. I sat on the elevated seat with toys around me. Seeing how excited I was, Nenek wanted to buy one for me but after considering that I'll be bored with it once I can crawl/walk, we decided not to get it.
We went to Bishan right after all the jalan2 to see my Atok and Nenek. Abang Alif was also there. It was raining cats and dogs (mean cats and dogs!) when we reached Bishan. Like previous times, I was on my jebik mode most of the time I was there. The place still feels familiar yet I couldn't remember it. Call it deja vu...it's French, I think. Like French toast. and French Fries.
I'm not a supporter of any soccer clubs but I do love watching 11 mini people running around the green field for a ball on teevee.
I'm also wearing this for Cik Isz. Ibu told me that Cik Isz loves Pires *whoever he is* sooo much that she talked about him almost everday when both of them were still in school. I'd sure love to meet her again one day. She sounds cuddly from what Ibu described her to me. She even calls herself little porcupine. I want a pet name too, cik isz! hehe.
there are so many things which makes me happy.
Nenek just talking to me and/or patting me to sleep.
Aunty Zah and Tok who just got back from work.
Tok bringing me out for a walk outside and watching lil people playing at the playground.
Nenek and Tok Bishan visiting me.
with Abg Alif.
and of course,
Ayah and Ibu!
with their constant hugs and kishes. :)
i just hate to see them go every sunday. or waking up from my nap in the evening to find them gone.
I have had a head full of bristles-like-hair, short hair, and even no hair *I remember being likened to a Chinese monk!* Some of us have grown our hair really long, cut it all off, kept it short, or lost it over the years.
Women have a 1001 hairstyles. They can opt for rebonding, perming *ala the aunties* and even gel them up and make it spiky *to look fierce*. Aunty Zah had a total of 2 hairstyles over the past 6 months for as long as I remember. I thought her hair *and many other ladies* was this white smooth piece of cotton but I was wrong! They actually have hair underneath those scarves.
In the 70s, guys love to sport long hair..nowadays it means you're a rock singer or someone who's waiting to go to NS *read: National Slavery* because their hair had to be shaved in NS. Of course, cute guys like Anuar Zain sports longer hair too *Ibu prefers him to be short-haired though* Women have indeed more hairstyles than men...i mean you can't make a guy's into a ponytail and put ribbons on them.
Ayah has short hair, as long as I remember. Ibu has longer hair than him. I saw some of her past pictures. Her hair has been short *and funny..haha* when she was in her teens. When you see a picture of yourself from the past, the most distinguishing feature of you, aside from your pimples and specs is your hair..right? Our hair styles helps us to remember the good times, the bad times, and everything in between.
I'm at the mercy of hairstylist-wannabes. My hair has grown long enough for a bit of my hair to be tied into 'a coconut tree' style. I would prefer to call it the 'taugeh' style though. :P
