I celebrated my 4th birthday on the 8th Ramadhan. It was a pretty low-key affair with just the closest family singing the birthday song and enjoying my birthday cake. :) Since it's Ramadhan, Ibu & Ayah thought it would be nice to invite aunty Zah+uncle Shah & Nek Ros+Tok Nal to join us for iftar. We bought quite a lot of food frm Geylang Serai's new hawker centre (that will be another entry!) The rest came after 8pm and it was chaotic with us running around. Well, there were only 3 of us, cousins, but we made the house upside down! hehe. Sarah & Adilah can join us next year. :P

You don't actually need a few hours to get adek Sarah's messy look. What you need is actually curlywurly (booboo?) hair and roll yourself on the bed/floor and you will get this bedhead look. Meg Ryan actually had a messy hairstyle in the 1998 movie “You’ve Got Mail” with Tom Hanks. Cool, rite?

I am still a bit wobbly so I'm often 'imprisoned' in this playpen when the big people are busy. I can only tahan being inside the playpen for a while because I can't play with kakak Aisyah, pick up bits and pieces of crumbs from the floor and try poking the ants with my grubby fingers. Sounds boring, right??? But this is the safest place for me to practise my standing/walking. I can walk slowly while holding onto the sides and it won't be that painful if I do fall.
At about eight months your baby will probably start trying to pull himself up to a stand while holding onto furniture. If you prop him up next to the sofa, he'll hang on for dear life. As he gets better at this skill over the next few weeks, he'll start to cruise -- moving around upright while holding onto furniture -- and may be able to let go and stand without support. Once he can do that, he may be able to take steps when held in a walking position and may attempt to pick up a toy from a standing position.

I wasn't too keen on getting a haircut but my hair is getting unmanageable. When my hair gets uncut after quite sometime, my head looks BIG somehow. I don't quite like my hair when it's short cos it makes me look like a boy. Oh well, the hardresser thought I am a boy even before cutting my hair...gah! So how do I look now? It’s a hairstyle which doesn’t get in the way and my head feels lighter especially in this (sometimes insanely) hot weather.

Our bedtime ritual has always been reciting the du'a before sleeping and a few surahs. Sometimes kakak Aisyah will 'entertain' us with the du'as she learnt at school or just singing some song she made up. I've always enjoyed listening to her and watching her giggling away but I was just too tired and wanted to doze off last night. I guess she saw that I wasn't interested and gave me a goodnight kish instead.

They did it again. Nenek quickly donned Sarah with my tudong after my ngaji session and off Ibu went to get her camera and snapped away. It's near bedtime so Sarah was probably too sleepy to protest and didn't take it off till much later.

I wonder whether she's eating or just banging her hands on the tray. And check out her stripy shirt against that stripey backrest. hehe.
