We went to the doctor to get myself assessed. Well, I've always been petite as compared to my peers. It's not as if I haven't been eating well. In fact, Ibu has been feeding me with protein-rich foods such as fish but I'm still pretty small.


True enough I was underweight when the doctor checked my weight. I am only 11.2kg at nearly 3yrs old. The doc checked my tummy, my heartbeat and discussed with Ibu and Ayah on what kind of foods to give me. Basically the advice was to pump in more food especially fish. He also prescribed appetisers and some vitamin pills. We will have to come back after a week to see whether my weight has improved.

Please dont give her ANY appetisers pleaseeee my aunt used to be underweight and were fed milk everyday and soon enough she became obese!!!

Assalamu'alaikum sis,

Just want to share with you about diet in kids:

1. Do include 3 main meals and 3 snacks (milk can be included in the meals with other food/snacks)

2. Appetisers like Nutroplex works

3. There is a calorie enhancement called Nutricomp Caloric. It can be found at KKH pharmacy. It has no taste and colour. Just add to liquid accordingly to the amount of liquid given.

4. Junk foods like potato chips are not encouraged. If the child likes, maybe once a week or fortnightly.

5. Add oil to the dishes taken by your child.

6. Children of her age still requires about 1080 kilo calories perday. calcium to be included and to be given about 350kl per day. 3 slices of cheese is equivalent to 180kl. You may let her eat it by itself or with other food.
