We finally got our very own chalkboard wall. It's hassle-free which means no part of the wall was painted. Ibu ordered adhesive chalk paper online and it's pasted at a wall of our dining area. Pretty nifty, isn't it?

I loooooove macarons. My love for macarons started since my very first bite back in 2010. Recently Ibu ordered a sampler pack from simply macarons. There were several flavours in the pack and my favourites were the choc ones! I wish there were more because kakak and I gobbled everything up in a single session. *burp!*

I wish Ibu can make macarons...perfect ones, that is. She has tried several times but there's only once or twice which came out ok. A slight deviation from a recipe (or if you're unlucky!) can result in completely flat, feetless macarons, or hollow macarons. You can’t undermix nor overmix the batter. Very difficult! A perfect macaron has a light and crisp outside and a soft and chewy inside. And not forgetting their 'feet'! Sounds confusing? Try one from a good macaron maker and you'll get what I mean.

I did a rainbow before bedtime yesterday. Ibu tore some papers and I just glued them on the paper. They look like mosaic tile art. This is definitely cheaper than the real mosaic tile art.
Mosaic is the art of creating images with an assemblage of small pieces of colored glass, stone, or other materials. It may be a technique of decorative art, an aspect of interior decoration, or of cultural and spiritual significance as in a cathedral. Small pieces, normally roughly quadratic, of stone or glass of different colors, known as tesserae, (diminutive tessellae), are used to create a pattern or picture.

Books are 20% off at Kinokuniya and we took the opportunity to go book-shoppping today. kakak bought a Geronimo Stilton book and a Moshi monster guidebook. I was hoping to get the Maisy's birthday cake book but it's out of print already. :( I settled for a Peppa Pig book instead. Well, actually there's not many books to my fancy but I just have to get one! :p Ibu also got her books which she already planned to buy.

We met unty and gang at Artfriend to get some art&craft stuff for our projects. Well, not much here either because we already have sooooo much stuff at home already. *looks at Ibu* We went home only after a visit to the toy store which Ibu can't distract us from. haha.

Another messy play for us today. And we love it! We love ooey gooey mess especially! I bet Ayah will faint if he was around to witness this. hehe. But don't be fooled by this simple messy act. It's really a fun hands-on way to write on letters for me. I am currently learning to write the alphabets and hurufs. And let me tell you. Writing on paper is plain boring....zzz. But this is one sensory experience that is absolutely fantastic and irresistable! Even kakak joins in the fun....wheeee!

Ibu has been cracking her head to keep us busy during the holidays. She saw an activity on her pinterest and got us to do it. I am sure you have heard of the volcano experiment, right? But we did mini volcano eruptions instead using a baking tray, baking soda, and vinegar. Oh yes, and a dropper. Just fill the tray with lots and lots of baking soda, and you're done. Drop a little vinegar on the baking soda and see what happens. Awesome, I tell you!!!

Do you know why this happens??

The bubbles that are created are filled with carbon dioxide. The carbon dioxide is a gas that forms when the vinegar (an acid) reacts with the baking soda (a base). For all you bakers out there, this is also what makes cakes and quick breads (the no yeast kind) get all nice and fluffy.

Usually we do our art activities under the supervision of Ibu. But yesterday, we attended a Ramadhan art workshop organised by a friend of Ibu. It was really fun doing with other kids! We learnt a lot of new things there such as batik painting, tile painting and some other crafts.

Adek was there too and she's really good at them even though she is still small. And she's even brave enough to ask for some stickers from a participant at the workshop. She's usually shy in gatherings like this. Way to go, adek! We had yummy food at the end of the session and even spent some time at the nearby playground.

Ibu brought us to see the Tangle event at Esplanade yesterday. It was awesooooooome! It is a kid-friendly event although adek was a little bit afraid halfway through the entanglement. hehe. It's situated at the Kids Art Village in Esplanade Park. It's also a FREE event and has 3 timings (4pm, 5pm and 6.30pm) daily. We went for the 4pm slot. We registered ourselves and was given a blue paper wristlets each to wear.

Adek and I got a ball of string when we entered the play area. Everyone was supposed to tie the string form one pole to another to form a tangle of colourful mess! Adek was happy for a while till she got tangled really badly and she whined for ibu. haha. We stopped for a break and had some snacks. Then we did some mask colouring and did paper crowns. There was even a storytelling session while we were colouring our mask.

We had icecream before we headed home. While we were walking towards the mrt, we saw 2 normal-looking sweepers. Apparently they were 'zookeepers' of a zoo filled with strange-looking creatures. There's even a moving giant poop. Adek and I had a great time exploring the mini 'zoo'. Ibu had to almost drag us away because it was getting late. What a great outing!
