Out in the real world

This month's school excursion is to Jurong Bird Park. Ibu and Ayah were also there to bring adek to see the birds. Our first stop was The Birds and Buddies show which started at 11am. There were pelicans and flamingos strutting on stage. There was Sassy (NOT sexy...hehehe) the Cockatoo who can cleverly fetch and deliver any tokens to anyone. There's even a parrot who sang 'rasa sayang' on the show! The show was almost coming to an end when it rained cats and dogs. We had to have an early lunch at the amphitheatre because we can't tour the bird park in the heavy rain.




We continued our outing after lunch. We were so glad that it was only drizzling a bit but we didn't go far, to my disappointment. All I saw were some flamingos, penguins and a horse even. Boring!!! ibu and Ayah fetched me after my school excursion has ended and we continued our bird park exploration. Ibu had told me about a waterfall which is at the bird park and thats where I wanted to go. We saw bald eagles and hornbills along the way to the waterfall.


We also stopped by Lory Loft where you can see the birds flying freely in the aviary. Visitors can even feed the birds themselves. We finally reached the waterfall afer half an hour of walking. It was very tiring but it's worth a visit! Did you know that the waterfall is the world's tallest man-made waterfall in the world? This is my first time looking at a waterfall and I was amazed! Too bad adek was napping in her stroller. I am sure she would be thrilled too.

Nenek was switching on the lights in the kitchen when suddenly all the lights went out! Even our tv was switched off too. Ibu tried to switch on the electricity but there was a spark of light and everything went out again. It was dusk already so it was getting really really dark. Kakak panicked (as usual) and began to cry a bit. But Ibu coaxed her and she was ok for a while but after that she started saying that monsters were lurking in the dark. Aiyoh, kakak has a lot of imagination lah.


We waited outside our house because it was already pitch dark in there. We got torchlights but there weren't any batteries inside. *facepalm* We have lots of birthday candles though but there are just too small! Must remind Ibu and Ayah to get batteries (lots of them!!!) if such a blackout ever happens again. Fortunately the electrician came 1/2hr later and fixed everything. phew!

I would like to introduce to you, SITI TUTU!!! She's my umbrella actually. I bought this a couple of weeks ago from Toys R Us at Vivocity. kakak has a bunny version (which she bought a long time ago) and she just called it "Bunny". Boriiiiiing. :p Siti Tutu will appear quite often in Ibu's flickr and facebook. So watch out for her!

Have you ever played Angry Birds?

In Angry Birds, players take control of a flock of multi-colored birds that are attempting to retrieve eggs that have been stolen by a group of evil green pigs.[7] On each level, the pigs are sheltered by structures made of various materials such as wood, ice[8] and stone, and the objective of the game is to eliminate all the pigs in the level. Using a slingshot, players launch the birds with the intent of either hitting the pigs directly or damaging the structures, which would cause them to collapse and kill the pigs.[9] In various stages of the game, additional objects such as explosive crates and rocks are found in the levels, and may be used in conjunction with the birds to destroy hard-to-reach pigs.

Nenek got us a collection of these Angry Birds stuff. Pretty cool, aren't they?

Thanks to adek, I got a HarryPotter-like-scar on my forehead. *rolls eyes* I forgot how it happened but adek got angry with me and almost turned into a mini-Hulk.

Ever since kakak and I got our library cards, we've been going to the library regularly. The library is a walking distance so Ibu just plonked me into the stroller with kakak on the buggyboard and off we go! With the hot weather nowadays, its really a trip we always look forward to because the library is airconditioned. Sweeeeeeeeeet! I also like the library because there are sooooo many books.

Kakak and I can borrow 6 books each with our library cards. That's quite a lot! The library has this cool sms notification service to let us know when the books are near expiry dates. Well, its a very useful service for Ibu since she's a rather forgetful person. :p
