Our creations with the salt playdough are finally dried and ready to be painted. I am very excited because we've been waiting like forever! Ibu also didn't bake them so they took a really really long time to harden.

Remember my visit to the refraction clinic? Well, the doc said I had to put on glasses to make my eyesight better. Ayah brought me again to the eye-doctor for a second opinion at National Eye Centre and we got another prescription for me to make a pair of glasses.

We made our way to ParisMiki at Junction8 to make a pair for me. There were sooo many pairs to choose from that I was quite overwhelmed by the choices! In the end I picked something pink just because it's my favourite colour and it even had a cute lil panda at the side of my specs.

Today is adek's birthday. We didn't really celebrate her birthday with any goodies to eat because we had just recovered from a nasty cough and runny nose. But we still sing her a birthday song which she really likes! Happy birthday again, adek Sarah! Although we always quarrel, I still love you lots!

Recipe for a salt dough:

- 1 cup of salt
- 2 cups of flour
- 3/4 to 1 cup of lukewarm water (the amount of water depends on relative humidity)

After modelling your dough, you need to bake it (we didn't do this) to harden the model.

When the kids have made creations they want to keep and have become bored with the salt dough, it is time to bake the salt dough. Place the creations on a baking tray or cookie sheet and bake for about 20 minutes on 350 degrees. Items that are bigger will take longer to cook.

Activities you can do with salt dough:

- Make playdough alphabet letters or numbers - children fill the alphabet stencils / number stencils with playdough...
- Use the playdough to make 2d and 3d shapes...
-Make up lots of small playdough balls - how many playdough balls fill up different small containers...(eg..cups, bowls etc)
-Make lots of playdough sausages - braid 2 or 3 sausages together.
-Provide lots of different textured materials for children to press into the playdough and uncover the patterns (eg. sandpaper, corderouy, rope, lace,
-Find different shaped lids and 'around the house' objects for children to press into the playdough and uncover different shapes..
-Make faces from playdough and make them express different feelings..
-Different playdough colour each week - gather playdough utensils in that colour also.
-Children stand coloured popsticks into the playdough to form patterning by colour - also great for early addition games and activities - stand 5 red popsticks together - stand 3 yellow popsticks together - how many altogether...

I did my very first potato stamping. All you need are a large potato, paint and a piece of paper. You really need a grownup to carve a shape on half on the potato. Ibu made a star on ours and we stamped colourful stars on our drawing papers. We left the papers to dry and Ibu kept them to be used as wrapping papers.

Us with our neighbours who live on the 2nd level of the block 127. Unfortunately we just found out that they will be moving to Tampines next year. Even our next door neighbour, Syafiqah and his bro, Syafiq, will be moving by the end of this year. :( No more friends to play with. Oh well.

I finally got one of Geronimo Stilton's books at Pageone...weehoo! It's been a couple of weeks since I asked Ibu to get me one after I saw their cartoon on okto.

Geronimo Stilton is the Editor in chief of the Rodent's Gazette, the most famous daily newspaper on Mouse Island, but his true passion is to write books, which become all bestsellers. He likes to read books, he likes to listen to classical music, play golf, even collect antique, 18th century cheese rinds, of all things! He adores his work and his family, but he hates to travel, because he gets airsick, seasick, and carsick. Nonetheless, he often gets involved by Thea and his friends in extreme situations and adventures all around the world.

I was extremely excited when Ayah brought back a starter home for our lil Sylvanian Families bunnies. It all started when Uncle Azhar (thx Uncle Azhar!!!) bought kakak Aisyah her very first Sylvanian toy, a mummy bunny with her 2 baby bunnies on a pram. We weren't the only one smittened by it. Even Ibu was in awe of them! Well, there’s just something about a miniature living room set with cute little books and a telephone that does it for us. hehe.
